Plant life begins from the bottom up, but relies on what is above. It can only cooperate between the two forms of sustenance. Civilizations have long existed next to bodies of water. If a civilization draws too much from the top or the bottom, it withers. It needs balance between top and bottom.
Nature reaches beyond the perimeters of its own borders. Its very lines and distinctions are constantly being created anew, reshaping its resources to new purpose and ever making the absolute and most efficient use of the free gift of light it is offered every day.
