Charlottesville, Sacramento, Berkeley — we’re watching a microcosmic re-enactment of Weimar Republic brownshirt-vs.-reds violence in real-time, complete with the same flags being flown.
'Jews are an ethno-religious people distinct from Europeans. At various times, they have existed within European societies, without being of them.
We need a new west.
There's no better time to rethink some of our common assumptions than now. We disparage other cultures for female genital mutilation, and as heinous as it is, we dismiss male genital mutilation in this country because we suppose we have a better reason to do so. While we're busy fighting to keep people out who would prefer a clit-cutting community or even just arguing with people who think that letting them in is a gesture of tolerance, perhaps we will take a minute to examine just what it is we're defending.
The following are some common precepts about western life, practices and ideas which are as enduring as they are unquestioned and ignored as often as questioned:
Political ideologies fail and triumph to the degrees they do because they are not the result of reason. They are always fueled by emotion; especially ideologies which require the frenzy of the masses to execute their most violent features, as in communism, democracy and fascism. Exegesis are created which focus on the sacred element which will tug on a group's heartstrings. The economy can be manipulated if the worker is exalted. The individual can be manipulated if the culture is exalted. When people talk about freedom, they usually mean freedom for one group to make decisions and the rest to stay quiet lest they get what little they have taken away.
Reverting back to the bomb thing is a bit of a mute point after Trump started dropping bombs in the same places Obama did.
People will be speculating about what will come of the meeting between Trump and Putin for a while. As some of their respective fans are obsessed with what and what isn't 4-D chess in all of their actions, we will certainly be subjected to multiple interpretations from all sides.
Christopher Bjerknes seems to think that the Trump-Putin connection goes far deeper than what the mainstream media has been baying on about. It is his contention that Putin is trying to destabilize America's relationship with Israel so that he can swoop in, thus giving a stronger foothold in the middle east.
As terrorist attacks continue, people get emotional and, as always when people get emotional, they put their attention in the wrong place and think in a foggy way. Radical Islam is A problem, but not THE problem. Every time there's a terrorist attack, people start pleading for a stop to immigration and to 'Build That Wall.'
The United States is currently in the growing pains of trying to figure out how to accomplish its goals through coercion but in such a way where they can get around the empires who actually have big enough weapons to crush us. We can't deal with Russia, China and North Korea directly, so we have to destabilize the countries that are on their way to being competitors in the world weapon market.
We do this, time and time again, by proxy. We allow rebels to do it for us, knowing they're going to fail when facing their respective government opposition, and then we get to blast all over the news that Syria and Libya are killing their own people, thus giving us a humanitarian excuse to 'intervene.'
We've been getting this kind of celebrity larping since the election:
'Depp asked a crowd in England on Thursday when was the last time an actor assassinated a president. He answered that it's "been a while, but maybe it's time." He later apologized.'
People who make threats make up a very small percentage of the people who actually end up killing someone. We've seen this over and over before. What we've also seen over and over is each wing turning the opposite wing running man into an antichrist.
An exercise in nonsequitor in which dire circumstances are treated with the utmost flippancy.
